Friday, 11 April 2008 , a round table was organised in Tunis about the cooperation between the Mediterranean countries: "Nouveaux Etats membres et pays partenaires méditerranéens; Partenaires ou concurrents?".

This event, organized under the aegis of the Slovenian presidency of the European Union, analysed from a unique point of view the relations of partnership between the Mediterranean States.

Daniel Daianu has presided the debate on the economic aspects of the cooperation between the Mediterranean countries: “De la concurrence au partenariat économique, un cadre élargi d'attractivité et de compétitivité”

"Friends of Europe” and Daniel Daianu, in association with BCR Bank have organised in Brussels on the 13th of May 2008 a round table about „Romania's economy after EU accession. Can rapid economic growth be sustained?”.

Nice – 11 to 12 September 2008

Daniel Daianu participated as panellist at the Eurofi conference, which took place in Nice (France) on the 11th and 12th of September 2008 (www.eurofi.net).

The subject of the conference was "How can further EU Financial integration foster economic growth and increase confidence? ".

The conference was organised under the patronage of the French presidency of the EU and was attended by finance ministers from the 27 EU Member States, Members of the European Parliament and leading players from both the financial and banking sector.

Daniel Daianu participated in the panel discussion on "Learning from the financial crisis: key drivers and institutions initiatives".
