Daniel Daianu took part as discussant at the European policy summit "A Balkans balance sheet" organized by "Friends of Europe" in Brussels.

The summit brought together over 300 politicians, policymakers and pundits, as well as representatives from international organisations, civil society and the private sector. Participants discussed the health of the EU’s Balkan enlargement strategy and whether the EU is exerting a calming influence on Balkan politics.

Intre 21 si 23 iulie a.c., Daniel Daianu a participat la o vizita de lucru a delegaţiei Comisiei pentru Bugete a Parlamentului European in Finlanda.

In cadrul acestei vizite, membrii delegaţiei s-au întâlnit cu reprezentanţi din administraţia publica centrala si locala a Finlandei, precum si cu Membri ai Parlamentului de la Helsinki. De asemenea, membrii delegaţiei au vizitat cartierul general Nokia, destinatoare a 40% din piaţa mondiala a telefoniei mobile.

Some 120 youths from the entire Europe attended in Brussels, the first European Entrepreneurial Forum, held under the patronage of Romanian MEP Daniel Daianu.

The event, organized in cooperation with Microsoft and Junior Achievement Young Enterprise (JA-YE), was focused on inspiring innovators and business leaders who have been in front of a crucial decision for their career: the start of a business of one’s own, is that a good decision?

FOCUS ON

On the 22th of May 2008, « Le Monde » published a joint letter signed by three former presidents of the European Commission, ten former prime ministers and five former ministers of finance. Initiated by Michel Rocard, Poul Nyrup Rasmussen and Daniel Dăianu, the letter expresses the signatories' concern about the current financial crisis and its effect on world economy.
